Diving in the Red Sea is one of the best scuba diving experiences you will ever have. The Red Sea is famous for its warm and crystal clear waters, and the abundance of underwater life is simply incredible.
Travelling there and back is super easy. When we did the trip we departed from Johannesburg at 8pm, and by 3pm the next day we were already doing our first dive!
The Red Sea is one of those destinations that, once you’ve been there, you will keep on going back for more.
When you go to the South of the Red Sea, you take “the path less travelled” – less divers dive here than in the north, which means that you have an underwater environment in pristine condition!
Because of its close proximity to the deep sea you tend to see a wider variety of sea life than what you would doing normal shore dives. This includes species like the White Tip shark, which is one of the lesser spotted species out there. Other very large pelagic fish can also be spotted here.
We also dive on the Brother Islands on this trip. These Islands offer stunning wall dives, and the underwater scenery is simply breathtaking. The walls are completely overgrown with soft corals and huge forests of gorgonians.
Diving off a liveaboard is the easiest and most comfortable way that you will ever dive. The Contessa Mia is one of the most luxurious and best equipped liveaboards out there, and with a friendly and helpful crew this makes for a real 5 star experience!
